Why Grace and Aging?

I believe in every woman’s life, there is a point when we look inside ourselves and have the opportunity for self-discovery. Mine seemed to come earlier than most women. I sometimes think that was both a blessing and a curse. If you have stopped by this blog, then you probably are familiar with what I am saying. If you understand life and experiences, the idea of maturing comes as a time to nurture. But not everyone who has the opportunity for self-discovery, chooses to do so.

Instead, some decide to live the status quo and live in the comfortableness. Some time ago, I conscientiously decided to live out my questions and to live in the Uncomfortableness. It has not always been the most popular route. In fact, it has even broken some of my relationships. But I agree with M. Scott Peck, that “I took the road less traveled and that has made all the difference.”

It is my belief there are women who have the same thoughts. This blog will be for all who embrace living and loving agelessly. It will be a discussion of appreciating and loving ourselves where we are now, but learning how to be better thru self care, education and new perspectives.

Several years, ago, (actually two careers ago), I bought a plaque that had the words, “Life is not about finding yourself, its about creating yourself”.  That is what grace and aging is about.

I hope you will join me on how to mature with grace.  I hope you will be encouraged to try new things.  I hope there will be lessons that will help us grow.  To all my “grace and aging” friends,  “We will never look back on our lives with regret.  However, we might use the rear view mirror to check our make-up.”
